Rugsėjo 6–7 d. Klaipėdoje vyko XII atviras Baltijos šalių lengvosios atletikos meistrų čempionatas. Šiemet šios varžybos taip pat buvo vienas iš pirmą kartą rengiamo Europos meistrų asociacijos (EMA) lygos etapų.
Alytiškis Antanas Grigaliūnas startavo 3000 m sportinio ėjimo rungtyje vyrų 60+ (V60) amžiaus grupėje, kurioje ne tik iškovojo aukso medalį (rezultatas 15:49,87), bet ir tapo nugalėtoju tarp visų amžiaus grupių dalyvių.
